Annette Princess Jimerson
Annette Princess Jimerson, also known as "Samantha Smith" (born Annette Princess Jimerson, October 12th 1966) is an African American artist, with European roots. She currently resides in San Jacinto, California.
Jimerson is known for her distinctive style, vivid details, bright colors and whimsical symbolism, is her focus in the nature of her Art. Her work has been featured in various popular publications, art events, as well as various museums and galleries, across the USA. Including multiple international art books, and websites. She has sold hundreds of paintings across the USA, including commissions.
Jimerson left her birthplace of Chicago, Illinois to live in the warmer climate of Memphis, Tennessee for health reasons in 1978. Over the next several years, she developed an attraction for drawing and was taken under the wing of an entrepreneur who was also the owner of the largest framing center in Memphis "Hazel's Frame Shop". Whom invested in her talent and sponsored her, while she furthered her education in oil painting.
Jimerson and her family settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. where she won a full art scholarship to attend one of the most prominent Colleges, in the USA. ("The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design") in 1986 where at the age of only 18, would compete with other artist twice her age. Also by being the only one of color in all of her classes, Jimerson still made outstanding accomplishments including making the Dean's List.
Jimerson then moved to San Diego, California. where she continued her studies majoring in fine art, and sculpture. Being a prolifical student, Jimerson's art professors Doug Dillard Chairmen of fine art, Daemon Hitchcock art professor ("San Diego City College") in 1991, used her work to showcase as prime example to the other art students, having her work displayed in the college library. Some of which to remain in the San Diego Archives for future students. During this period she sold many of her paintings, drawings, and sculptures.
Jimerson began investing in real-estate at a fairly young age of 22 years old, and purchased her first condo in Orlando, Florida. later in Little Rock, Arkansas. and San Jacinto, California.
Jimerson, began selling her work through several art galleries throughout the USA. Including newspaper coverage, magazine coverage, and notable art companies such as ("Dick Blicks") website in 2016.

Jimerson's artwork was first compared to the old master's from the Renaissance era, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Rembrandt: After proving her success as a painter, later began painting in more whimsical and expressive abstract styles, however she stills holds true to her original love of the old Renaissance style that is displayed beautifully in her still life's, and 17th centenaries tapestry style paintings. Jimerson works in mainly acrylic, oils, mixed media, and drawing on canvas. Also selling a few sculptures in San Diego, Ca.
